In our last meeting, we talked about how we can respond to anxiety. I loved how we gathered around each other and encouraged one another. Holy Spirit was in the room! I’ve shared that I’ve struggled with anxiety, and the following verse God shares the antidote. Prayer and praise!

6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Let’s continue to meet together to worship God and share with another. I can’t wait to see you tonight!

Wake up!
I used to let old stories, old songs, old narratives, and external voices determine the way I viewed myself.

Until I gave everything back to God. Then He lifted off the cloak of those old stories and introduced me to my true self in Christ.

It was like I was walking in a dream. Then God snapped His fingers, and I woke up. I woke up to His grace. To His love. To God calling me by my true name.

Sometimes anxiety comes along singing it’s frenetic song full of fury and worries. God replaced it with a new song of joy. Today, I allowed myself myself to laugh at my mistakes I made this morning.

Remix it
God is teaching me to approach my day with praise. I’m learning to sing over it day, over my tasks, and my family. A response of praise can shift the atmosphere.

The lessons into blessins anthology
When anxiety or fear tries to visit: “God, I remember Your love for me and who You’ve told me I am. I know I am cherished by you. You’re enough for me.”
Create a new song of praise of your own.
Do not be anxious about ______________. Instead, I will praise God about _______________.

Add a two step dance to it, and you’re blessed!

Dance before the Lord
I dare you to have a praise party, even if it’s by yourself, and just hype God up. Satan has to flee.

I know it’s hard to rev yourself to praise, especially when you’re trying to tussle with fear or anxiety. Let me tell you something — praise is powerful.

One of my favorite examples is Paul and Silas praising God while they were in chains in prison. Praise freed them from their confinement. This is what praising and thanking God does for our minds too. It unlocks us from the chains of anxiety and fear.

Praise turns the lights on
The power of praise shakes up and cracks open the prison walls and lets the light of joy, peace, and love to come in.

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.

I pray that you meet your day with a praise song. God loves you!

Bless you,
